Throughout 2016, the South Australian Museum and the South Australian School for Vision Impaired collaborated on ‘The Bat Project’; an initiative which aimed to explore the and redress the barriers to access in a museum, for children who are blind or vision impaired.

Grounded in the belief that all citizens have a right to full cultural participation, the SA Museum’s project also involved significant in-school learning, which ensured that teachers could find their own avenues to incorporate the topic into their teaching.
