This webinar provides support for both new and experienced teachers in ways that we can use music as a learning tool. It features engaging ways we can develop children’s understanding of music while simultaneously targeting other learning areas, including literacy and numeracy.
Using familiar songs, this webinar will show you engaging ways that you can develop young children’s understanding of the different elements of music while simultaneously targeting other learning areas, including literacy and numeracy. Music has been identified as a key area where many teachers feel most challenged, so this session looks at how to develop professional skills to be a ‘co-player’, using musical activities that engage children while giving the teacher the opportunity to develop their own music skills. Pedagogical methods to actively involve music as a general learning tool through music play can be as enjoyable for the teacher as the child! Music play naturally develops the essential learning skills of listening, comprehension and concentration, involving movement and imaginative play. The session will also look at how to extend physical skills such as balance. New materials will also be introduced to add to your existing repertoire.
