Our Thinking together video series brings the early childhood experts to you. In this video, US expert Dr Kristie Brandt delivers a lively discussion of infant and early childhood mental health. Topics include: relationships between carers and babies; what neuroscience tells us about babies’ development and mental health; and building supportive relationships with families.

Kristie Brandt is Director of the Parent-Infant & Child Institute in Napa, California, providing mental health clinical services for children age birth-5 and their families. She was previously the Chief Public Health Manager for Napa County for 25 years, overseeing Maternal-Child Health and other general public health programs. Dr Brandt is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Paediatrics at U.C. Davis Medical School. She has been a nurse-midwife since 1984 and a nurse practitioner since 1981.
