Description

This philosophy leading strategy module explores how vision and philosophy represent the core values that inform all practice areas of a business. These are essential components for the operation of early childhood settings. A shared vision and philosophy within a setting are integral to the achievement of an ’Exceeding National Quality Standard’ rating, and yet these components are not always understood by educators and managers.

This module is designed to help participants understand the meaning of vision and philosophy, and explore how a vision and philosophy can be used effectively within early and middle childhood settings.

Learning outcomes

In this module, participants will:

  • explore the concepts of vision and philosophy and their relationship to the National Quality Framework
  • study theories related to vision and philosophy
  • review case studies and resources on vision and philosophy
  • apply knowledge and understanding to develop a sample vision and philosophy for their setting
  • develop a plan for leading educators through the activity of developing a vision and philosophy.

Completing ‘Philosophy leading strategy’ will contribute 1 hours of PD addressing standards 7.1 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
