Dr Gai Lindsay
Gai Lindsay worked as a preschool teacher and director for 22 years. She is currently completing her PhD in early childhood education at the University of Wollongong, where she lectures.Description
This module will help you to create an early childhood curriculum that celebrates and supports the visual arts and creativity, including the tools – and attitudes – that educators need to achieve this. It features footage of art experiences and video interviews with educators.
The module is particularly suitable for experienced educators and for educational leaders.
The module will provide you with an understanding of:
- the importance of visual arts in early childhood practice
- philosophies, practices and materials that create satisfying art experiences for children
- how to nurture your own artistic skills.
Suitable for early childhood education and care professionals at all stages of their careers. This module will take an estimated one hour to complete.
Completing Visual Art and Creativity in Your Curriculum will contribute 1 hour of PD addressing standard 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
