Biography
Dr Kathryn Hopps is an early childhood educator, researcher and consultant. She has a practitioner background, having worked in a diverse range of education settings including centre-based and mobile services, family day care, schools and school-age care. Kathryn’s primary expertise is in transitions from early learning to school, and her doctoral thesis focused on communication between educators in preschools and schools.
Kathryn completed a post-doctoral research fellowship on a national transition-to-school project and has been a member of transitions practice and research networks at the local, national and international levels. She currently works as a Be You Consultant for Early Childhood Australia, supporting learning communities to apply a mental health lens to transitions. Kathryn is also an Adjunct Research Fellow in the School of Education at Charles Sturt University.
