Biography

Karen Thorpe is Deputy Director-Research at the Institute for Social Science Research where she also leads the Childhood Development, Education and Care Research group.  Her research focus is early childhood education and care environments; particularly the interplay of ECEC quality and the ECEC workforce.   In 2013 she was named by the Australian Financial Review as among Australia’s 100 Women of Influence for the impacts of her research on educational and family policy.
